Context
 A leading French group of independent distributors of building and home improvement materials, Gedimat has a turnover of 1.7 billion euros and has 200 members with 420 outlets and 5500 employees.
The building / home improvement market is very competitive and concentrated. Indeed, there are no independent stores, only members of a cooperative, or a parent group.
In this context, the problem Gedimat faces is the retention of its members. Gedimat must provide the best Back Office service (central purchasing and referencing, communication, merchandising, information technology, insurance ...) to allow members to focus on their core business of selling.
Objectives
The Intranet deployed in 2001 to help improve communication with employees and distributors. Over time, the volume of information exploded, with the addition of new products that are increasingly complex and difficult to categorize.
There was a wealth of information available, but finding the right information was complicated and time consuming. In addition, respecting security management and access rights was a high priority.
Benefits
This project allowed Gedimat to revive its intranet, improve and increase its usage.
The Sinequa CS solution allows members to quickly access relevant information according to their profile, within the back office support framework, in order to focus on their business as sales outlets and retain their market competitiveness
